West Hartford Finishing Company beautifully remodeled our shabby old kitchen during February 2024.  Owner George Peluso, craftsman Tommy and George’s son Alex were all professional, courteous, thoughtful and dedicated to completing their high quality refinishing in a timely manner: one week as advertised. After completing the one week project, they returned promptly to address various small issues itemized on our respective punch iists. As outlined on West Hartford Finishing’s website, the renovation process began with a visit from George who provided a proposal and estimate of the work to be done.  Our old kitchen was the original, built nearly 40 years ago.  Several times, George commented, “They don’t make ‘em like this anymore.” This comment had good and bad connotations: the bad implications were that the hardware (sliders and hinges) doors and drawers were in poor condition; the good implication was that the cabinetry infrastructure was sound and better constructed than many modern kitchen cabinets are today.  George advised us to keep the cabinetry but replace the doors, drawers and hardware.  This, he explained, would provide an updated kitchen at a fraction of the cost for installing new cabinets. The next step was a visit to the West Hartford Finishing shop.  George showed us a wide selection of doors and panels from which we could choose the style we wanted.  He explained what work would be contracted out to a manufacturing company and what they would do in-house at the shop.  George also demonstrated the process they would use for finishing the cabinets with whatever color we would choose. Our remodeling project was scheduled for several weeks later.  We were reassured that the project would be completed in five or six days. West Hartford Finishing Company’s remodeling was transformative.  Our new kitchen enhances the appearance of the whole house into which it blends perfectly.  We are extremely happy with the work of George, Tommy and Alex. Beware!! All I will say is Our job was a NIGHTMARE & so was another job for a customer having his kitchen done @ the same time! I would NEVER use this Co. again.Took weeks longer & I know for a fact many others have had similar experiences. We just had our kitchen cabinets refinished by George and the West Hartford Refinishing team.  They did an excellent job and the cabinets look terrific.  We appreciated the time George took to explain the process and especially the time Tom took with us on a Saturday morning to help us understand all of the options.
